M&G has appointed Emmanuel Deblanc as the chief investment officer for its £74bn ($96bn) private markets business. Deblanc previously worked at Allianz Global Investors for over six years, where he led and developed the private markets capability and built out the private debt franchise. He also spent nine years at BNP Paribas as the co-head of the debt advisory and financing team. Deblanc will start on 14 March and report to Joseph Pinto, CEO of M&G Investments. M&G’s private markets business has been investing in assets such as private credit, structured credit, impact and private equity, real estate, and infrastructure for the past two decades. Last year, the firm launched its first European Long-Term Asset fund, the M&G Corporate Credit Opportunities, which invests in private credit.
