RBC: Fueling Canadian Talent for the Future

TLDR

  • Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) has launched a 10-year, CAD$500 million program called RBC Future Launch, aimed at empowering Canada’s youth for future jobs.
  • The program focuses on four key areas: skills development, career support, meaningful work experience opportunities, and mental wellbeing support.
  • RBC has partnered with Ten Thousand Coffees (10KC) to provide mentorship tools and networking opportunities for the BIPOC community in Canada.

Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) is making a significant investment in Canada’s future workforce with its RBC Future Launch program. The 10-year initiative, which was launched in 2017 and has a budget of CAD$500 million, aims to empower Canada’s youth for the rapidly-changing future of work.

The program focuses on four primary areas to prepare young people for employment:

  1. Skills Development: RBC works with community and educational partners to ensure young Canadians have the skills they need for the jobs of today and tomorrow. This includes addressing the digital skills gap and emerging technologies like AI, blockchain, IoT, and quantum computing.
  2. Career Support: RBC provides networking opportunities with peers, influencers, and potential employers to give young people access to career support and connections.
  3. Meaningful Work Experience: RBC recognizes the importance of practical, work-integrated learning experiences. By partnering with organizations, they aim to increase access to these opportunities and break the “no experience, no job” cycle.
  4. Mental Wellbeing: RBC is dedicated to ensuring Canada’s youth have access to sufficient mental health support. They recognize that mental wellbeing is directly linked to productivity and career prospects.

RBC has also renewed its partnership with Ten Thousand Coffees (10KC) as part of RBC Future Launch. 10KC is a talent experience platform that provides mentorship tools and networking opportunities for the BIPOC community in Canada. The partnership aims to break down barriers and provide guidance to young people as they prepare for the workforce.

Overall, RBC Future Launch demonstrates RBC’s commitment to investing in Canada’s future talent and empowering young people with the skills, support, and opportunities they need to thrive in the evolving job market.
