Scottish Govt wants CTO to steer tech strategy with flair

The Scottish Government is looking to hire a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to provide technical expertise and set the vision and direction for the government’s technology strategy. The CTO will report to the Digital Director and will spearhead a team of software engineers. The role will involve developing and delivering government services using a platform-based transformation strategy, and ensuring alignment with the government’s wider digital business model. The successful candidate will have experience in building an effective software engineering function and identifying technologies and operating models to meet organisational outcomes. The post will be based in either Glasgow or Edinburgh.
